Bill Intros:
Int. No. 66 - Low wage workers. A Local Law to require that firms receiving certain service contracts or economic development benefits from the City of New York pay a living wage and provide health benefits to workers.
Int. No. 93-A - (Council overrode veto on 4/9/03) Education and training for public assistance recipients. A Local Law to permit access to education and training by public assistance recipients.
Int. No. 96 - Standards and conduct of employment agencies. A Local Law requiring new standards of conduct by employment agencies engaged in the job placement of domestic or household employees.
Int. No. 97 - Employment discrimination protection, WEP & Workfare. A Local Law banning employment discrimination against participants in the work experience program and other workfare programs.
Int. No. 500 - Department of Employment transition of functions. A Local Law transferring functions of the Department of Employment to the Departments of Small Business Services and Youth and Community Development.
Resolutions:
Res. 249-A - Further extension of unemployment insurance. Calls upon the New York State Legislature to enact a further extension of unemployment insurance and the U.S. Congress to extend and expand unemployment assistance benefits.
